Belief

Every evening after I have tucked the girls into bed I list all my blessings for the day.  I try my hardest to think outside the box and to keep the repetitiveness out.  Of course you have those blessings that you just can't live without and you are thankful you don't live without them :)  Tonight was just like any night except I decided to think outside the box with my scripture reading.  I ponder in my heart what I would like to learn, relearn, understand, comprehend (you get the idea) and then I say a prayer and let the Book of Mormon open where they may and start reading.

Today I have been reading in Mosiah, one of my favorites.  It makes me feel peaceful (maybe it's because I imagine everyone sitting quietly and very still listening to a prophet.  Kinda the way conference SHOULD be, or Sunday mornings...) and happy when I read the words of King Benjamin.  In the first couple of chapters King Benjamin gives his people five things they need to believe and adds, "If you believe all these things see that ye do them."  Elder Bruce R. McConkie wrote, "Belief, humble belief, is the foundation of all righteousness and the beginning of spiritual progression"  (A New Witness for the Articles of Faith, 21).

There's so many gems in the Book of Mormon...it doesn't matter much where you start reading...it's all powerful. It's all good. It's all from God! :)
