WOW! I can't believe how fast time has gone. Jay and I took a "mini" vacation without the girls and visited his brother Jeffery and partner Keith. We had a FABULOUS time, talking, playing guitar hero, talking, eating, talking... you get the idea. So a shout out to Jeffery and Keith for a fun, fun weekend.
Last week was Jacquie's first official week in kindergarten. By Wednesday she told me I didn't need to walk her to the back of the school (where they line up to go in). I can honestly say that really can tug at your heart strings knowing they can do it! Without you! I watched her run through the the boys playing football to her little kindergarten class corner and I could see her and her friends jumping up and down, screaming. She told me that her best friend is Bobbie Jean and she loves singing and story time. We received some good new from her teacher during testing week. She said "From mom to mom, Jacquie is ready to start reading". We will be getting together in a couple of weeks to get the starter books. We are really proud of Jacquie and can't believe just how big our girl has gotten.
Emily is attending Jacquie's old pre-school at Mrs. Hillary's 2 days a week. She is the youngest in her class but when I pick her up she is so excited to sing the songs she is learning and tell me about the pictures they color, the games they play, etc. She started singing the alphabet and all you can here is G, G, G, LMINO P. She has the tune down and can actually carry a note... she IS Jay's child (unfortunately for Jac... she is mine in that department). The other day I was talking with Emily and I thought to myself I no longer have babies... I HAVE KIDS!! I have to admit that I love the fact I can say, "Go get your shoes" and they do it. "Go get in the van" and it's done, with no help from me! WOW!
You are probably all wondering what I am doing now that I have some free time. Well, the first week was focusing on the schedules and getting them right and not forgetting to pick anyone up. And I made a list of things I can do on the house to help move it along.
AND Jay will be starting back to Kennecott the beginning of October. We will be so glad to have him home during the weekdays again. We have missed him so very much! And maybe, just maybe we will be living upstairs in no time... I have my fingers (and toes) crossed!!!
