Thanksgiving, Gout & Por Favor

We had a great Thanksgiving down in St. George. The weather was nice, the company was good, and the food was fantastic! After dinner we played a long and fun game of Chicken Foot.

Before the trip Jay got "the gout" (as Jacquie calls it). He takes allopurinol to keep the attacks at bay, but it really does nothing but keep "the gout" away for a month or two at a time. This time "the gout" settled in his big right toe. We called the on call doctor to see if we could get something for it before we headed to our Thanksgiving feast. Unfortunately it isn't doing to well so it looks like it will be another trip to the doctor on Monday. Poor guy. On our way down to St.George we stopped at Arbys for a little dinner. We were waiting at the drive up window and Jacquie very nicely kept asking her Uncle Joe if she could come and sit on his lap. Jacquie: Please Uncle Joe, can I come and sit on your lap? Joe: Were just getting food and then heading out Jacquie: Please, Please, Please? Joe: Look. They are getting the food ready to give to us Jacquie: POR FAVOR?? (mom, it's Spanish for please)

Of course he let her come and sit on his lap (Jacquie has Joe wrapped around her finger!). We had no idea she even knew the meaning, let alone use it in a sentence correctly. That night when we arrived at Josh and Christy's, Joe started showing her some yoga moves. She said "that's not yoga, this is" and started into downward dog and telling Joe the name of the poses while she was doing them. I asked her where she learned that, and she said "in school". When ever I ask her what she learned in school she always tells me she doesn't remember. Hmmmm...

Here is a fun (maybe not so much for Joe) picture of the kids playing with Uncle Joe. The man needs to learn to tell them NO!! Anywhoo, we had a great time. Thanks Josh and Christy for letting us come down and eat and sleep and eat some more and sleep.... you get the idea.

Sounds like Jackie has the same problem Landon does. He always says "I don't remember" when I ask him what he learned in School. Yet when my mom asks, he tells her a bunch of stuff. Go Figure!
