Funny, Funny, Emily...

Yesterday I was sitting by Emily for dinner and started to pay close attention to her. She was crumbling her bread on her spaghetti and talking while she stirred it all together...
MOM: What are you doing?
EMILY (with her hand on her hip and a disgusted look on her face): MOM, I'm the Barefoot Contessa.
MOM: But you are making a mess.
EMILY: MOM, the Barefoot Contessa doesn't make a mess!
MOM: Oh yes, my mistake.

And yes, we love watching the Barefoot Contessa. Jacquie wanted to be her for Halloween :)

That's really cute. And, it sounds like you've got the right idea. I need to try and get my girls interested in something other than Caillou, Tigger and Pooh, Sesame Street, Dora etc. Then maybe, just maybe, I could watch something on T.V. every so often. I think I'll introduce them to the Food Network today :).

Stephanie-I just realized I never answered your question about felting sweaters. It's really easy, it's just a matter of washing a 100% wool sweater in warm/hot water (sometimes you have to wash it more than once to come up with a desired thickness) and dry it. I did a blog on it awhile ago that goes into more detail http://martinandmindy.blogspot.com/2008/10/i-found-new-hobby-last-week-and-i.html?zx=70a82853925583dd. I found a pattern online for the baskets: http://blog.betzwhite.com/2008/03/girls-spring-mini-tote-tutorial.html.
*I get wool sweaters from Savers and DI, they both have a good selection!
