My Grandma turns 92 today!
Mildred (Millie) Irene Wolfenbarger Bundy is the 12th of 13 children born to Rueben Abner & Susan Florance in Missouri, the family moved to Pueblo Colorado when she was 3 where her father was a dry land farmer. She met and married my Grandpa Quentin (whom I just found out liked to be called Bob. I know you are laughing now because you would like to know how you get Bob from Quentin? "Hold on to your britches"... His name is Quentin Robert... ahhh, there ya go) in California. They had 6 beautiful children (with my mom being the prettiest of them all. And Brian thought he was the good child... HA!)
This is my Great Grandma Wolfenbarger,
Millie and her older sister Ruby
In all seriousness, my grandma is the ABSOLUTE BEST!! As a young lady she loved dressing up and dancing (I swear she is striking a pose in all her pictures along with her 10 sisters). She loved to keep a clean house, tried to garden and LOVED to grow roses.
Here are a few pictures of her "posing"
She of course has had her fair share of trials too. She lost her mom at 21, her husband at 31 with 6 children (5 under the age of 5). Here is a little something I just learned about my grandma, she would always read the "funnies" to my grandpa when he was alive and she has never read them again since he passed away. It's always the little things, huh? She was telling me while she was here visiting 2 weeks ago that she bought a large house after my grandpa's death that had big doors she closed up so she could rent the other side to pay her mortgage.
Grandma Bundy still enjoys her water aerobics, her roses, the front porch, her &@%$ cat, pretty clothes and jewelry and her 6 wonderful children along with her 21 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. Happy Birthday Grandma!!!
