My sister-in-law Erin and I took the kids on a small adventure downtown to the new Deseret Book they just opened. I wanted a new book to read and I heard that John Bytheway would be there signing books (I always take my camera to things like this and then chicken out. But I made myself ask him for a picture :). Since they are doing so much construction downtown we decided to park at the church in the avenues and walk. It was a gorgeous day (a little chilly when the sun would hide behind the clouds) but so much fun to see all the spring flowers poking their heads. It was so exciting to see that spring is soooooo close!! We took lots of pictures and enjoyed seeing the new store and visiting the Temple on the way back.
After our visit we went outside and took more pictures with all the beautiful SPRING flowers!
Emily & Jacquie
Jacquie took this picture of me and Emily
Of course we had to stop (constantly) and look at the rocks and tell the kids to stop crossing them... we knew someone would fall in (aka... Jacquie!)
We ended the afternoon at Artic Circle where the kids could eat and run all they wanted.
Thanks for coming Erin, Sam & Maggie!

I love John Bytheway. It was at one of his firesides that I met Brett!
He is the bomb!
stuff like THIS makes me miss Utah!
I love down town. So fun to go walk around. Where's the new store? I thought they had a huge store already.
The Chruch is remodeling the old ZCMI building and Deseret Book is the first store to be completed and it's HUGE!!! There were a bunch of writers signing that weekend... John was my fav of the group, so I stood in line and forced myself to ask for a picture!
