I {HEART} General Conference

Did you notice? Did you notice how important families are?
A lot of the talks given were on the importance of our families. And what we need to do to keep our families safe and protected. I loved how Elder Tom L. Perry instructed us that "Parents must resolve that teaching in the home is a most sacred and important responsibility. While other institutions such as church and school can assist parents to 'train up a child in the way he (or she) should go, ultimately, this responsibility rests with the parents."
Pres. Boyd K. Packer's talk was directed towards the father's and their priesthood responsibilities "It's a fathers right and duty to preside in his home through the power of the priesthood. Too many priesthood brethren are living below their privileges and the Lord's expectations. Fathers have a sacred calling. You have the power of the priesthood directly from the Lord to protect your home. There will be times when all that stands as a shield between your family and the adversary's mischief will be that power."
Sister Julie B. Beck, president of the Relief Society taught the woman of the Church the importance of personal revelation. "The ability to qualify for, receive and act on personal revelation is the single most important skill that can be acquired in this life."
I decided when Jay gets home from St. George we will be having a "Family Council". It's time for us to step up and fight against the evil one. Fight against those who are trying to destroy our families. I am so grateful to a most loving and patient Heavenly Father who hears our prayers and answers them with his faithful servents. I am thankful for my eternal family and the knowlege that families really can be together forever!!

SERIOUSLY. It was amazing how much focus was on teaching children. The talk about daughters learning from their mothers example...WOW!
