I haven't been in a blogging mode and I'm still not. So, I am sorry to say that this isn't an update of the fam. Although, we did celebrate Emily's 5th birthday and Jac hit a milestone by loosing her 2 front teeth.
This is more of a rambling journal post, or better yet just me thinking out loud.
I just so happened to stumble across an article about a couple who downsized their life and "biggie" sized their happiness. They started living within their means, got rid of the cars they had been driving and moved to bicycles, moved their TV into their closet and eventually the yard sell, so did most of their clothing, furniture, kitchen gadgets, etc. They just kept the very minimal. I’m sure you get the idea.
The more I think about this, the more I think that is what is missing in my life. Why do I think I need things to make me happy? Why is it I need to hold onto "stuff" just to shove it here or there? I'm guessing my empty feeling is in the stuff I want and don't need, stuff that takes up space and makes me feel a little claustrophobic... I'm telling you, I've got stuff! I find that the stuff needs cleaning or fixing and takes away from the good stuff I should be doing. Forget the heart attacks and strokes, the stuff will get you in the end. For what and who is my question. Who am I trying to impress that gives a rats? It’s obviously not working; I haven’t gotten the phone call of jealousy or envy of the debt ridden rides we once owned. However I am very pleased to announce that we no longer own those rides. They are now modest paid for rides that could use a new radio and an air freshener for sure. See? Stuff!
I’m thinking tomorrow will be the day to downsize my stuff and “biggie” size the simple things. Could it be because I never received the homemade Relief Society “SIMPLIFY” to hang as a constant reminder? Hmmm… I think I’m on to something here. I blame Relief Society, why not go all the way and blame the parents.
So let’s cut the crap and the clutter from and already cluttered world. It’s time to live within my means in every which way. And I think I will start with my mind

The TV’s going first!

Good luck! I've been looking to get rid of cable, at least. And contemplating how much do I really need a monthly-subscription cell phone. Janet's been decluttering a ton lately, and the place just feels better, I must admit.
Hope you guys are doin alright.
I have the RS sign that says SIMPLIFY, but yet I feel so busy! I will look to you for inspiration!
you know what, I WISH WE WERE NEIGHBORS!!!
I love your thinking.
I could totally do without the tv myself, but I use it to keep the kids entertained. shame on me.
A car without a payment is the sweetest way to roll.
Good luck, this sounds like a refreshing and exciting adventure.
